Before your first appointment
If this is your first appointment, please complete the short new patient form before you arrive.
This gives me some basic information about you and the reason for your visit, so that we can make the best use of your appointment time.

Your first appointment
Your first appointment lasts approximately 60 minutes and includes time for both assessment and treatment.
We’ll start by discussing the reason for your visit, your general health and any relevant medical history. I’ll then carry out an appropriate physical examination, which may include looking at your posture and movement and performing relevant orthopaedic, neurological or other clinical tests.
I’ll explain what I find, discuss treatment options with you and, where appropriate, treatment will usually begin during the same appointment.
You are welcome to ask questions at any point.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily.
Depending on the area being examined, you may be asked whether you are comfortable removing some clothing. You will never be expected to undress beyond a level you are comfortable with, and your consent is essential throughout the examination and treatment.
You are welcome to bring shorts, leggings or other suitable clothing to change into.
Follow-up appointments
Follow-up osteopathy appointments are approximately 40 minutes.
These usually include a brief review of how you have responded since your previous appointment, reassessment where necessary, treatment and advice about movement, exercise or self-management where appropriate.

The clinic is located within Lower Close Studios on the Dartington Estate.
If it’s your first time visiting the clinic please take a seat in The Space Health & Fitness reception (just through the main entrance to Lower Close Studios) and I’ll come to meet you at your appointment time.

Parking
Parking is in one of the main Dartington Hall car parks, located either side of The Green Table cafe. Please remember to pay for you parking when you arrive using the machines or the RingGo app (location 24704).
Finding the clinic
It is a 2 minute walk from the car park down to Lower Close Studios. Follow signs for The Space Health & Fitness

Preparing for your appointment
There is usually very little you need to do beforehand.
Please bring details of any medication you are taking if these weren't included on your new patient form. If you have relevant scan reports, consultant letters or other medical information, you are also welcome to bring these with you.
Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
If anything has changed significantly with your health since making the booking, please let me know.
Cancellations & changing your appointment
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please give as much notice as possible so that the appointment can be offered to somebody else.
